  I don't have any extended family in town and I can honestly say that the people of New Life Community Church have become my family. Through these people I have learned what it means to make Christianity my daily lifestyle rather than a religion. New Life is very different from the church I attended as a child. Our pastors preach the truth of the Bible with the goal of helping us understand how to apply it in our homes, neighborhoods, and workplaces. But that is balanced with grace, not rules; New Life is a place for second chances, for making a new beginning. Where you have been isn't important to the people at New Life Community Church, but they definitely care about where you are going. If you don't have a personal relationship with Christ, their number one goal is to help you find Him. If you who claim the title "Christian," they will do all they can to help you live in a way that models the life of Jesus Christ. They are quick to show tender love but are not afraid to show tough love when the safety or well-being of their flock is threatened. New Life has provided me the truth, support, safety, and challenge that I needed to grow in Christ. Thank you, God and my New Life family!

  New Life is really committed to fellowship, has a heart for serving, teaching truth in love, and helping students and families grow in Christ. I am learning so much through Christian friends that I've found here. The pastors are committed and caring.
  
  I didn't know I could find so much of what I was looking for in a church family... all at one church, but I have. It's different than all the other churches I've attended. When I was looking for a church in the Cedar Rapids area I was advised to give a church a chance by going a few Sundays in a row, and you have to be willing to meet people. But New Life is very welcoming and friendly. Maybe not the church for everybody, I guess, but definitely the church for me.
